The Spanish nuns (15th century) tuned the middle string of their guitar to their own voice. The lowest comfortable note they could sing was equal to the 'open' middle string. The 3 string guitar (15th century) was used to tune the keyboard instruments of that time. The "BLACK KEYS" take up no space.
