We're celebrating our 20th year in 2015-2016. We're proud to have helped provide tuition to over 20,000 pupils since we were established in 1995.

Nemco was formed as an independent company in 1995 with the assistance of Newcastle City Council and the Musicians Union. As per our articles of association, we operative as a not for profit organisation.

We provide musical instrument tuition to children in schools around Tyne and Wear and a variety of ensembles catering for different ages, instruments and abilities.

As you will appreciate learning to play a musical instrument is not easy, however, it can be extremely rewarding. As a parent please give support and encouragement to your aspiring instrumentalist, and if you have any concerns please contact NEMCO.

As a student please remember that playing an instrument is a lot of fun but it is also hard work. Do not be afraid to ask your teacher for help if you find some things difficult and some things are; there is not a musician in the world who has not had to overcome difficulties.

Where appropriate, membership of an ensemble should be actively encouraged as this supports learning.
