Youth Music Theatre UK (or YMT) is the leading music theatre company for young people aged 11-21. YMT is a national performing arts company that specialises in creating brand new music theatre.

We work across the UK and Ireland with leading industry professionals to offer unique opportunities and high-quality training to young singers, actors, dancers and musicians as well as emerging artists and stage technicians.

As an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, YMT is a youth theatre like no other putting young people at the centre of the creative process to produce vibrant, innovative and original works in some of the UK's top venues and festivals. We work with people aged 11-21 from any and every background and our courses offer significant personal and educational benefits: developing self-esteem as well as improving communication and team-work skills whilst working in a professional environment.

Youth Music Theatre UK is a national company working across the UK and Ireland with people aged 11-21 interested in the performing arts.

We specialise in creating brand new musicals, which means we don't do pre-existing work (or 'repertoire') like West Side Story, Spring Awakening, Grease or Annie etc. At YMT, you will work with leading theatre professionals to create something that is totally new, truly unique and all yours!

Whatever way you choose to get involved with us, you will be fully involved in the creative process; not only will you develop your acting, singing and dancing abilities, you'll also learn how to work as an ensemble, share creative ideas and, most importantly, MAKE THEATRE - this is why YMT is so unique!
